Congratulations to VCHS senior Kevin Puorro, winner of the High School Esports League (HSEL) national Fall Majors Madden tournament. Kevin is the first VCHS Esports player to win a national championship! He competed in a pool of over 100 players representing over 60 schools across the country. In addition to his trophy and HSEL apparel, Kevin’s victory earned him a $1,000 scholarship!

We are also proud of VCHS sophomore, Jack Huang, who placed second in the HSEL national Fall Majors Minecraft tournament. Out of a pool of over 1,000 players from several hundred schools, Jack made it to the final round of the competition and received a second-place trophy and HSEL apparel.

The Esports program at VCHS is a joint initiative offered as part of the Digital Experience program, launched in 2019 by the AMSE Institute, Conservatory of the Arts, and Athletic Department. Over 90 VCHS students participate in the Esports program where players connect and enjoy a structured, competitive, high-level experience.
