Shadowing Dates for 2019-2020

GENERAL SHADOW DAYS ARE OPEN!

Two Types of Shadowing Experiences: General Shadowing or
Conservatory Shadowing (Please read details below and choose one).
General Shadowing

Tuesdays/Thursdays from 8:10am – 12:30pm
Wednesdays from 8:10am – 12:45pm
General shadowing pairs the student with one of our VCHS students sharing similar interests in athletics, applied math, science, and engineering (AMSE), or a particular academic class.  These students typically attend one or more standard academic classes: English, Bible, science, math, social science, world languages, engineering, etc.

Please contact Kaitlyn Bylund at kbylund@vcs.net to schedule a General Shadowing appointment.
Conservatory Shadowing

Times vary based on classes selected to observe.
Conservatory shadowing is for students with a passion for pursuing the arts in high school. These students are strongly interested in a shadowing experience including at least one class in music (either instrumental, voice, jazz, band, strings or piano), theatre, technical theatre (stagecraft), dance, art, photography, or videography.
Please contact conservatory@vcs.net if you have any questions.

Our Shadowing Program provides an exciting opportunity for students to get a first-hand campus experience by participating in a “day-in-the-life” of a Valley Christian Warrior. All prospective students are paired with a VCHS Student Ambassador (who shares similar interests, gender, and age) and attend two classes with them. In addition, students shadowing on a Wednesday experience our weekly chapel with the entire student body. Years of experience has confirmed that many applying students point to their shadowing experience as making the difference in their decision to attend VCHS.

When scheduling please provide the following information:
a. date preferred (see dates above)
b. student name
c. gender
d. school name at which she/he is currently attending
e. type of shadowing experience preferred (General or Conservatory)
f. key interests (specific athletic sport, music, video, AMSE, business, English, etc.).

Dress Code (exceptions made if you are wearing your school uniform):
GUYS – collared shirts, polo shirts, or plain t-shirts (no white t-shirts), pants or shorts without rips or frayed ends. No athletic shorts or sweat pants.

GIRLS – no tank tops, frayed or ripped jeans, athletic shorts, or sweat pants. Skirts or shorts right at the knee or longer.

All shadowing students must be in Valley Christian dress code and bring with them a completed emergency medical information form. After signing in at the Student Life Center visiting students will meet their Student Ambassador.
